One of the toughest things about changing my lifestyle is the food. I love food! Also, my friends and I watch the food network all the time.
I have found that my taste buds have changed. I carve some of the healthier foods or a nutribullet smoothie. I still like having the unhealthy foods, I just try to eat less of it.
It is the start of the sprung semester. I need to try to stay on track. The good thing is that my friends are "trying" to be healthy too. The sweets that have invaded our house is not helping. But we are working out together, we have been doing these "Tone It Up" workout. So we are falling and whining together, but have been able to tell the difference already.
Yesterday, I made quinoa muffins. My mom sent me a recipe a while ago. The veggies I put in were green bell peppers and onions. I added a little bacon and cheddar cheese. For the spices, I added salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and sriracha (not too much because it is hot). I finished it and the texture of the quinoa reminds me of cornbread.
Hi there. I know that it has been a while since the last post. The holidays and the new year got to me. Also, the fact that I didn't have to get up at 7 for class and walk a mile and a half to campus and back. But I am back to the health kick. I also have been trying a little yoga. Here is a beginner video that I found. I have been doing a couple of modifications because, well, I have absolutely no strength at all.
I still have been using the Nutribullet, but I wanted to give it a little extra kick. I went to the Nutribullet site and the have a powder for fat burning. The thing is I didn't want to spend 20 dollars plus shipping to buy, so I made my own. I looked up the ingredients and mixed it all together. The mix is matcha green tea, cocoa nibs, chia seeds, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, and ground turmeric. Then I shook it in a gallon bag, cut the corner of the bag, and put it in the tea tin. I am giving you this tip because it can get messy, but it is worth it. Now I am back on track.
I just want to say how important sleep is. I was up late studying for a final and only got 3 hours of sleep. I was not functioning after the final. Luckily, I got a 2 hour nap this afternoon, but now I don't want to do work.
I find that lavender oil helps. I also say the manta "calm, comfy, relax."
I found this video on YouTube today. She gives some great tips to lose weight. I agree with most of them. I have done most of them and I have lost 20 lbs. I need to try the glass of water when I wake up.
I found this recipe a while ago and I have already made it a couple of times. It is really easy and tasty. My mom had me make it for a family dinner and everyone liked it.
For the past couple of weeks, my weight hasn't changed at all. Luckily, that also means that it has gone up. I need to do more than walk to and from class.
I have decided that I should do more yoga or Pilates. There are great workouts online. Also, I may lift a weight while I watch tv with my housemates. I am sick of my jiggling arms.
